Buses
1956-1957: 600 of Japan's largest R32 rear engine buses were exported to Chile.

1958: Building on the expertise gained from producing the R32 bus for use in Chile, the R400 rear engine was developed by changing the engine mount from a horizontal to a vertical position.

The AR470 bus was developed with the DB34, Japan's first turbocharged diesel engine, and air suspension

1960: The Rosa (B10), Japan's first small-size bus with a passenger capacity of 21, was completed at the then Nagoya Automobile Works.

Trucks
1955: The T31 8-ton truck was modified to produce the T33 with a new all-steel cab.

1959: The T380, Japan's first large-size cab-over truck was mass-produced.

Mid-size trucks in the 2.5 to 4 ton range were produced. These trucks became the "Jupiter" line, and full-scale production began in 1959.

The T330 8-ton truck with its bold nose-down style production began.
