Fuel efficiency means the company designs vehicles to operate with maximum productivity for our customers.

Environmental sustainability means Mitsubishi Fuso strives to create vehicles with the lowest possible environmental impact.

Safety means the company develops vehicles with active and passive safety features, to protect drivers, passengers, fellow motorists and pedestrians.

Along these lines, Mitsubishi Fuso is developing numerous advanced technologies to address current and future vehicle demands.

Mitsubishi Fuso’s Canter Eco Hybrid light-duty truck employs a parallel hybrid system that enables environmentally-friendly driving in all situations. This has the major effect of reducing CO2 emissions and increasing fuel economy.

The Canter Eco Hybrid is based on the clearly-defined and comprehensive concept Ecology/Economy/Easy Drive, which are the core benefits of the new vehicle for both society and customers.

Urea SCR (selective catalytic reduction) is an exhaust processing system to help meet stringent new emissions rules like Japan’s 2005 Japan new long-term emission regulations. Urea SCR significantly reducing emissions of NOx (nitrogen oxide).

The system was works by introducing AdBlue® (aequous urea) into the exhaust stream in the presence of a catalyst. A chemical reaction resolves nitrogen oxide into harmless nitrogen and water.

MDAS-III (Mitsubishi’s Driver’s Attention monitoring system) continuously monitors the driving conditions of the vehicle operator during high-speed operation and warns the driver when his or her attention is declining.

The system can also learn from the driving conditions and driving characteristics and estimate the attention level using information from a camera for recognizing the white lane lines and various sensors.

When necessary, a highly accurate warning is generated. Further, when the vehicle drifts out of the lane, an alarm comes from the speaker on the side in the direction the vehicle is drifting to alert the driver.

The system is intended to enhance safety, but it is not a substitute for an alert, well-trained, well-rested driver.

Distance warning (inter-vehicular distance warning devices) promotes the maintenance of an optimum inter-vehicular distance. Employing a highly accurate millimeter wave radar, the system provides an accurate inter-vehicular distance alarm even during bad weather and when driving through curves.

This system is intended to assist the driver in safe operation of the vehicle. However, it is not a substitute for safe driving in itself. The warning and inter-vehicular display do not operate when driving at low speeds.
