Comment for the article on rear / front hub for heavy-duty vehicles |
| MFTBC has filed recall on March 24 this year for front hub of HDT and
Large Bus of the model year before 1996, and filed recall on April 15 for
rear hub of the same model launched between 1989 and 1992. In accordance with this recall measure, we have been conducting strength evaluation of front/rear hubs of all HDT and Large Bus by looking far back into the past, including current production hubs, with the company’s strong intention to ensure safety. MFTBC has adopted a new evaluation method while receiving technical advises from external academic experts, and research institute working under MLIT, and we were able to complete hub evaluation on all heavy-duty vehicles. Based on the analysis result of this new evaluation, we have decided to implement field fix for all hubs, which do not meet this strict evaluation standard, even if there was no defect or accident reported in the past. This is not by order of MLIT, but a proactive measure taken by Fuso. Since we are currently organizing the data, we will report details of the field fix in the regular press conference on November 24, starting from 15:00.
