Mitsubishi Fuso Receives Certification for
International Quality Standard ISO 9001:2000

April 3, 2006

Tokyo, Japan – Mitsubishi Fuso Truck & Bus Corporation (MFTBC) today announced that it has attained ISO 9001:2000 certification for management systems in Japan. ISO 9001:2000 is a globally recognized quality standard established by the International Organization for Standardization. MFTBC’s certification means that the company’s key business processes meet stringent international criteria for quality.

MFTBC’s ISO 9001:2000 certification is especially significant as it applies to all the company’s Japan operations, except for the domestic dealers who were recently integrated as of March 1, 2006. It covers virtually the scope of business processes: R&D, procurement and production to sales, finance, corporate strategy and other functional areas. MFTBC believes it is the only full-line commercial vehicle manufacturer in Japan to have attained this particular type of certification.

The award of ISO 9001:2000 follows a comprehensive review by TUEV Rheinland of Japan, a certification body for quality management systems.

MFTBC President & CEO Harald Boelstler said: “Mitsubishi Fuso Truck & Bus Corporation is focused on becoming ‘the most reliable company’ for all our customers and business partners. This ISO 9001:2000 certification is an important milestone and a sign of the dedication of MFTBC employees. Going forward, we will continue our efforts to implement maximum quality in all our products, services and processes.”
