Mitsubishi Fuso Exhibits Advanced Vehicle Technology at
Indonesia International Motor Show

•  Canter Eco Hybrid and Fuso Concept Vehicles on Display
•  Highlighting Fuso Product Development in the Company’s Largest Export Market

Tokyo, Japan and Jakarta, Indonesia – Mitsubishi Fuso Truck & Bus Corporation (MFTBC) is exhibiting two examples of advanced commercial vehicle technology at the 14th Indonesian International Motor Show. On display at the July 21-30 show will be the Canter Eco Hybrid and the Fuso Concept. Both trucks highlight a wide range of new technologies developed to make commercial vehicles safer, more efficient and friendlier to the environment.

“The Canter Eco Hybrid and the Fuso Concept demonstrate new technologies Mitsubishi Fuso can bring for our customers,” said Bert van Dijk, MFTBC Board Member and responsible for international sales & service. “While we are not yet planning to introduce these vehicles in Indonesia, we wanted to illustrate the engineering and technical capabilities of Mitsubishi Fuso. We are working on and investing in the future taking into account customer requirements but also environmental issues.”

The new Canter Eco Hybrid is cleanest light-duty truck in the world. With a hybrid system, the light-duty truck significantly reduces fuel consumption and emissions, while providing easy operation on the job. The Canter Eco Hybrid features the best environmental performance of any commercially-available light-duty truck (LDT) in the world, and is the first LDT to comply with Japan’s stringent, upcoming ‘long term emissions regulations.’ According to company data, it also has the best fuel efficiency of any Japanese brand of hybrid electric commercial vehicle. It is now available in Japan.

The Fuso Concept Vehicle – featuring next-generation safety, comfort and styling -- is a view to the future of truck technology. Systems incorporated into this concept, heavy-duty truck include: a pedestrian monitoring system, a vicinity awareness system, rear view cameras, illumination control headlights, driver awareness monitoring and auto cruise control. In addition, the vehicle has a striking profile and advanced styling combined in an aerodynamic form.Both vehicles will be exhibited throughout the Indonesia Motor Show, which is the country’s largest annual truck and automotive exhibition.

Indonesia is MFTBC’s largest export market. In calendar year 2005, the company achieved sales of 39,700 units (wholesale) in Indonesia, and is the commercial market leader with market share above 55%.
