Mitsubishi Fuso Enters Truck Markets
In Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Georgia

•  Distribution agreement with TEMSA Global Sanayi ve Ticaret A.S. for Marketing Light-Duty Mitsubishi Fuso Trucks
•  New Milestone: One of Four Pillars of Daimler Trucks’ Global Excellence Program “Growth and Market Penetration”

Kawasaki – Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC), one of Asia’s leading commercial vehicle manufacturers, today announced its new market entry into Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Georgia. The company has completed a wholesale distribution agreement with TEMSA Global Sanayi ve Ticaret A.S., Istanbul, Turkey, to market the Mitsubishi Fuso Canter light-duty truck in these markets. The trucks will be exported as CKD kits from Japan, assembled locally in Turkey and sold through TEMSA networks in Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Georgia.

TEMSA Global Sanayi ve Ticaret A.S. was established in 1968, and has been the strategic distributor and vehicle assembler for Mitsubishi Fuso trucks in Turkey since 1984.

Market Expansion and Daimler Trucks’ Global Excellence Program

Mitsubishi Fuso’s entry into truck markets in Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Georgia continues a program of international market expansion. In 2008, the company began sales in several new Eastern European markets: Hungary, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia, Serbia and Montenegro. In addition, the company expanded its presence in Africa by entering the Angola commercial vehicle market.

Mitsubishi Fuso’s international market expansion is in line with the “Growth and Market Penetration” initiative of Daimler Trucks’ Global Excellence program. Under this initiative, members of Daimler Trucks are entering new markets which display potential for above-average growth.

Overall, the Global Excellence program comprises four pillars: Management of Market Cycles, Operational Excellence, Growth and Market Penetration and Future Product Generations and Technologies.
