Kawasaki - Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC), one of Asia’s leading commercial vehicle manufacturers, announced today that it will make its largest delivery of hybrid trucks outside Japan. By the end of March, the company will deliver 25 new Mitsubishi Fuso Canter Eco Hybrid light-duty trucks to Star Track Express, Gordon, Sydney, New South Wales, an Australian express freight company well known for its investment in technological innovation.

“This hybrid truck business with Star Track Express marks a very positive step for MFTBC in our product offensive for hybrid expansion in international markets,” said Mr. Kai-Uwe Seidenfuss, MFTBC Vice President of Sales & Service International. “We are excited to deliver our Canter Eco Hybrid light-duty trucks to a leading express freight company in Australia and are happy to contribute in offering high quality and environmentally-friendly solutions to our customer in the market.”

Canter Eco Hybrid Trucks Rolls Out in International Markets

In October 2009, MFTBC announced it had received its first 10-unit hybrid orders outside Japan from the Electricity Supply Board, Ireland’s premiere electricity utility. MFTBC has marketed hybrid trucks in its home market, Japan, since July 2006, when the Canter Eco Hybrid was launched. To date, over 750 Canter Eco Hybrid trucks have been sold in Japan.

The Canter Eco Hybrid is one of the most advanced Japanese light-duty hybrid trucks currently available for sale in the world today. It features a parallel hybrid system, significantly reducing fuel consumption and emissions.
