Kawasaki – Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC), one of Asia’s leading commercial vehicle manufacturers, today announced that it will exhibit its high performing, rehabilitation model small bus “Rosa” at the 12th International Conference on Mobility and Transport for Elderly and Disabled Persons (TRANSED 2010) in Hong Kong. Hosted by The Hong Kong Society for Rehabilitation, the event will take place from Wednesday, June 2, through Friday, June 4, at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center in Wanchai, Hong Kong. Mitsubishi Fuso’s participation represents the company’s one of the company’s efforts in promoting a barrier-free society. “We are honored to participate at an event with high interest by well-known professionals, researchers and government officials and to share one of our products specifically developed to help support the Hong Kong transportation community,” said Mr. Aiichiro Nishikawa, MFTBC Director of Asia/ASEAN Market. “The Rosa bus clearly demonstrates our effort in further promoting an overall barrier-free society and also supports the exhibition concept – ‘Sustainable Transport for All.’” Rosa Small Bus – Variety of Usage, Popular Around the WorldMitsubishi Fuso’s Rosa small bus is designed based on the concept of “great care for each and every passenger's comfort.” Dating back to 1960 when it was first launched in Japan, the Rosa has built on its 50-year customer experience and is currently available around the world in more than 40 markets, satisfying various customer needs and applications including mobile wheel chair unit, ambulance, school buses, and other transportation means. The rehabilitation model Rosa exhibited at the event is specifically designed for customers in Hong Kong who are physically challenged when getting on board and off from the vehicle. The lifting equipment installed at the back of the vehicle elevates/descends passengers and even people on wheelchairs. Wheelchair stoppers are installed inside the bus for the passengers to enjoy full comfort as well as safety. Mitsubishi Fuso has been present in the Hong Kong market since 1968 and has been selling light-, medium- and heavy-duty trucks and small buses, through its local distribution network. The rehabilitation model Rosa bus has been available in Hong Kong since 1985. |
