Fuso Unveils All-New “Canter Guts” Light-Duty Truck
For Japanese Market

Kawasaki - Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC), one of Asia’s leading commercial vehicle manufacturers, today launched its all-new “Canter Guts” light-duty truck model for the Japanese market. The new model “Canter Guts,” will add a new range 1.5-ton payload class to the existing renowned “Canter” light-duty truck series which will now cover an even wider product range from 1.5-ton payload class trucks to the most fuel-efficient hybrid trucks. The enriched “Canter” light-duty truck series will be available at Mitsubishi Fuso dealerships and regional sales centers across Japan from January 15, 2013.
Today’s milestone is based on the strategic partnership between Daimler AG and Renault-Nissan Alliance announced on April 7, 2010. A basic agreement regarding reciprocal original equipment manufacturer (OEM) supply was reached between MFTBC and Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. (Nissan) on June 29, 2012, with an agreement for Nissan to supply the base “Atlas F24” light-duty truck to MFTBC. On November 8, the formal contract has been concluded between the companies.
Main Characteristics of the “Canter Guts” Light-Duty Truck Model
•  Compliant to the world’s most stringent JP09 emission regulations (Japan Post New Long-Term Emission Regulations)
•  All 2WD models certified as “Excellent” Low Emission Vehicle designated by nine prefectures and cities in Japan.
•  Part-time 4WD model variations offered.
•  Two-pedal 6AMT (6-speed automatic mechanical transmission) delivering class-leading fuel economy and powerful performance for stress-free city driving. 5-speed manual transmission with over-drive.
•  Adopting an independent double wishbone front suspension to ensure superior driving comfort and driving stability coupled with a leaf rigid rear suspension for reinforced durability.
•  First to achieve 4.2-meter minimum rotation radius (2WD Short Body Model) in the 1.5-ton payload class light-duty truck segment, delivering outstanding smooth turning and easy handling on narrow roads and sharp curves in urban areas.

Engine Specifications
Vehicle powered by “ZD30DDTi” 2.953-liter turbo-diesel engine with intercooler, adopting a common rail high pressure injection system and crude EGR coupled with DPF designed to effectively remove PM (particle matter). This overall contributes to an overall achievement of 30% lower PM emissions level than the regulatory requirements, while at the same time complying with the JP09 Emission Regulations (Japan Post New Long-Term Emission Regulations).
