Kawasaki - Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC), one of Asia’s leading commercial vehicle manufacturers, today announced that it will exhibit its world’s most innovative and fuel-efficient Canter Eco Hybrid light-duty truck at the Kawasaki International ECO-Tech Fair 2013. MFTBC will also offer seminars on its environmental technologies at the show for elementary and junior high school students in Kawasaki City. The Kawasaki International Eco-Tech Fair runs February 1-2 at the Todoroki Arena in Kawasaki City, Japan.

Incorporating world’s first innovation – combination of a dual-clutch transmission, DUONIC®, with a hybrid motor – which had received one of Japan’s most prestigious “2013 RJC Car of the Year Special Award” for the first time in history by any commercial vehicles manufacturer, the Canter Eco Hybrid achieves world champion fuel efficiency, making it the first hybrid truck to pay off economically. Production has also started at the company’s facility located in Tramagal, Portugal, for the European markets.

Today’s achievement represents the Fuso’s commitment to achieve “FUSO 2015,” the company’s five-pillar growth strategy introduced in October 2011. One of the five pillars is “Leader in Green Innovation,” meaning the company focuses on advances in Green Products, Green Factory and Infrastructure and Green Supply Chain to achieve an aggregate CO₂ reduction of 7.5% by 2015.
