Management changes in the board
of Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation

Kawasaki, Japan–Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC), one of Asia’s leading commercial vehicle manufacturers, announces its important personnel changes in the Board of Management.
Dr. Albert Kirchmann, hitherto Chairman of the Board of MFTBC, will retire on the 31st of December.
In 1984, Dr. Kirchmann joined Daimler-Benz AG as an Assistant to Plant Management at the Wörth Truck Plant. He subsequently took on a range of management roles in Corporate Planning, Controlling and Strategy in Germany and Spain. In 2001, he was appointed Vice President, Strategy, Controlling and Planning, for the Powertrain Business Unit of then DaimlerChrysler AG. In 2004, he then assumed responsibility for Business Development, Controlling and Finance within the company’s Commercial Vehicles Division. In 2006, he became Vice President, Head of Finance & Controlling/Business & Product Planning, for Daimler Trucks, and as a part of that role became a Board Member of MFTBC. From 2009 until 2015, he served as President and CEO of MFTBC, and since 2013 also as Head of Daimler Trucks Asia. In April 2015 he moved into his current roles Chairman of the Board of Daimler Trucks Asia.
Succeeding Dr. Kirchmann is Kazuo Matsunaga, Vice Chairman of the board of MFTBC since April 2016. He will be appointed as Chairman of the Board of MFTBC from 1st of January, 2017. Mr. Matsunaga started his career at the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (currently Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (“METI”) in 1974. He was Vice-Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry from 2010 to 2011. Mr. Matsunaga brings a great knowledge about the Japanese business and political environment that will be of great benefit to the board.

In 2015, the company sold a total of about 154,200 vehicles including light-, medium- and heavy-duty trucks and buses under the Fuso brand. 89.29% of its shares are owned by Daimler AG and10.71% by various Mitsubishi group companies. MFTBC is an integral part of the Daimler Trucks division of Daimler AG.
