Tokyo, March 14, 2003—
Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (Mitsubishi Fuso) announces that DaimlerChrysler
and certain Mitsubishi group companies today completed the required procedures
for acquiring equity holdings in Mitsubishi Fuso. As a result, DaimlerChrysler,
MMC and certain Mitsubishi group companies now hold equity shares in Mitsubishi
Fuso of 43%, 42% and 15% respectively.
Mitsubishi Fuso President & CEO Wilfried Porth commented on this latest forward-
looking development, saying: “Mitsubishi Fuso has made a new start as a
dedicated commercial vehicle manufacturer. Accelerating the pace of our collaboration
with DaimlerChrysler will enable us to consolidate and bolster further our business
foundation and financial standing both in Japan and in overseas markets. This
will make Mitsubishi Fuso more competitive, both as a company and as brand, and
will see us grow into a more internationally- and customer-oriented company; one
that commands a strong global presence.” |
