Nissan Diesel and Mitsubishi Fuso Reach Basic OEM
Supply Agreement on Bus Products For Japan Domestic Market

EStarting with the Supply of Vehicles Compliant to Japan's New Long Term Emissions Regulations

Tokyo - Nissan Diesel Motor Co. Ltd (Nissan Diesel) and Mitsubishi Fuso Truck & Bus Corporation (MFTBC) today reached a basic OEM supply agreement regarding the mutual OEM supply of finished buses and bus engines in the Japan market. The agreement is intended to enhance the heavy and medium bus businesses of both companies in Japan.

According to the companies, the objective of the mutual OEM supply agreement is to further strengthen the foundation of both companies' bus businesses by leveraging each other's strengths. Specifically, enriched product lineups will be available for customers by mutually supplementing finished vehicles and engines between the two companies. The arrangement also could contribute to the reduction of R&D cost, the reduction of manufacturing cost based on bundling effects, and also increased productivity. Further, Nissan Diesel and MFTBC are adopting an urea SCR system as technology to comply with the new long term emission regulations for heavy-duty vehicles.

Specific details of the Nissan Diesel-MFTBC mutual OEM supply agreement including the following:

Finished buses:
(compliant with Japan's new long term emissions regulations)
oNissan Diesel will supply MFTBC with midi-buses as well as some of the large city buses (non-step buses).
oMFTBC will supply Nissan Diesel with large tourist coaches and some of the large city buses (one-step buses, two-step buses).

Bus engines:
oNissan Diesel will supply MFTBC with large city bus engines that meet new long term emissions regulations.
oMFTBC will supply Nissan Diesel with midi-bus engines that meet new long term emissions regulations.


The agreement will implemented in phases after April 2007.
