PRESS RELEASE

Mitsubishi Fuso Announces 2006 Summer Sketch Contest

July 28, 2006

•  28th Annual Event Encourages Kindergartners and Preschoolers to
Draw Their ‘Dream Vehicles’

Tokyo, Japan – Mitsubishi Fuso Truck & Bus Corporation (MFTBC) today announced the start of the “Mitsubishi Fuso Summer Sketch Contest” for 2006. The annual event encourages artistic entries of kindergartners and preschoolers from all over Japan. The application period is scheduled from Tuesday, August 1 to Friday, September 29. Entries are accepted at Mitsubishi Fuso dealers nationwide.

The Summer Sketch Contest was initiated with the idea of having children imagine and draw vehicles in which they would like to ride. These might be imaginary fun vehicles, dream vehicles for the future, or trucks and buses working around children in daily life. In 2005, over 46,000 entries were received from 635 kindergartens and preschools. Since the first contest in 1979, the total entries have reached 862,900 pieces.

Mr. Tei Yamamoto, one of Japan’s leading authorities on modern painting, will be the chairman of the 2006 Summer Sketch Contest selection committee. The committee will select 3 top awards as well as general awards. Award winners will receive special prizes. In addition, all entrants and all schools which collect entries will receive a recognition.

“Mitsubishi Fuso is pleased to once again stage the Summer Sketch Contest,” said MFTBC Chairman Keisuke Egashira. “The entries always show great imagination, inspiration and talent. We hope that the Mitsubishi Fuso Summer Sketch Contest will continue to be a fun activity that generates excitement and interest in trucks and buses.”
