Mitsubishi Fuso Announces Results of Annual
“Kids Sketch Contest”

October 30, 2008

•  Pre-School Children Drawing Dream or Everyday Trucks and Buses
•  30th Anniversary of Contest
•  Total Entries Have Now Exceeded 1 Million

Kawasaki – Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC) today announced the winning entries from its 30th annual Kids Sketch Contest for pre-school children. Over 47,000 entries from 638 kindergarten and nursery schools were received during this year’s entry period, August 1 to September 25, 2008. After a comprehensive selection process, the winners of the various prizes have been selected.

The Kids Sketch Contest was initiated with the idea of having children imagine and draw vehicles in which they would like to ride. These might be imaginary fun vehicles, dream vehicles for the future, or trucks and buses working around children in daily life. This year marks the 30th anniversary, and total entries have reached 1.01million since the first contest.

After screenings attended by MFTBC Chairman Keisuke Egashira and others, the entries went through to the final judging by a panel chaired by Tei Yamamoto, one of Japan’s leading modern artists. The panel selected a total of 88 entries for award: three Grand Prix, 5 First Place and 10 Runner-Up prizes as well as 70 Honorable Mentions. All the 88 selected sketches will be posted on a special website of MFTBC. The three Grand Prix and First Place entries also will be seen in the December issue of MFTBC’s magazine “FUSO.”
