Mitsubishi Fuso Enters Puerto Rico Market,
Establishing Further Presence in North America

Kawasaki - Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC), one of Asia’s leading commercial vehicle manufacturers, today announced its new market entry into Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. The company has completed a sales and service agreement with Guaraguao Truck Sales, Inc., based in Bayamon, Puerto Rico. Starting September 2009, Mitsubishi Fuso trucks will be exported from Japan and distributed through Mitsubishi Fuso Truck of America, Inc. (MFTA) to Guaraguao Truck Sales, Inc.

“Mitsubishi Fuso is very happy to work with Guaraguao Truck Sales, Inc. to bring reliable, efficient, environmentally-friendly and high quality products to new customers in Puerto Rico,” said Mr. Kai-Uwe Seidenfuss, MFTBC Vice President of Sales and Service International. “Puerto Rico has further potential for growth in the future, and we hope that Mitsubishi Fuso trucks will help support that development.”

Mitsubishi Fuso’s product offerings for Puerto Rico include diesel-powered, cab-over engine FE/FG light-duty trucks and FK/FM medium-duty trucks ranging from 12,500 lbs (5.7 tons) to 33,000 lbs (15 tons). They will be built at MFTBC’s Kawasaki, Japan, plant and exported as completely-built-up units to Puerto Rico.

Growing North American Presence

Mitsubishi Fuso’s entry into the Puerto Rico market is part of an initiative to strengthen the brand’s presence in the region. The company is also augmenting its dealer network in North America by doubling dealerships in Canada and adding locations in the U.S. Overall, Mitsubishi Fuso’s dealer network now totals over 200 locations in the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico. In the past ten years, Mitsubishi Fuso has sold over 51,000 vehicles in North America.
