KawasakiMitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC), one of Asia’s leading commercial vehicle manufacturers, will exhibit two high efficiency, low emissions products at the Eco Car World 2010 event. On display by MFTBC will be the new Super Great heavy-duty truck and the Canter Eco Hybrid light-duty truck. The Eco Car World 2010 event takes place Saturday, June 5 through Sunday, June 6 at the Red Brick Warehouse open space in Yokohama.

Features of Vehicles for Display

New Super Great Heavy-duty Truck

Introduced for the Japan market on April 22, the new Super Great complies with the 2009 Japan New Long-Term Emission Regulations (JP09), the world’s most stringent. It incorporates a newly developed heavy-duty engine, the 6R10, which leverages the know-how of Daimler Trucks business units around the world. The truck achieves both significant reduction of emissions and CO2 reduction due to enhanced fuel efficiency. This is delivered principally by the optimal combustion efficiency of the 6R10 combined with newly developed BlueTec® exhaust gas after treatment system, which encompasses an urea selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system and diesel particulate filter (DPF). BlueTec® is a registered trademark of Daimler AG.

Due to its fuel economy improvements, 87% of the new series meets Japan’s 2015 fuel efficiency standard, qualifying a large percentage of the model range for Eco-car Tax incentives in Japan.

Canter Eco Hybrid Light-duty Truck

The Canter Eco Hybrid, a hybrid light-duty truck, features a parallel hybrid system which improves fuel efficiency and delivers CO2 reduction. Power to drive the vehicle comes from the vehicle’s electric motor, the diesel engine or both. The hybrid system switches its operational mode to optimized mode according to the driving situation. When slowing down or braking, the electric motor/generator functions as a generator to help brake the vehicle. The generator converts brake energy into electric energy and stores it in the Lithium (Li)-ion battery for the next moving off or acceleration. So this system significantly contributes to lower fuel consumption and CO2 reduction.
