Mitsubishi Fuso Introduces 4WD “Canter” Light-Duty Truck Model
For the Japan Market

Kawasaki - Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC), one of Asia’s leading truck manufacturers, has now added a 4WD model to the new Canter light-duty truck line, further expanding the versatility of the new generation vehicle unveiled last year.

Starting sales in the Japan market, the new 4WD Canter light-duty truck model complies with the world’s most stringent JP09 emissions regulations (Japan Post New Long-Term Emission Regulations). Furthermore, the emissions of NOx and PM of the new Canter are 30% lower than required by the JP09 regulation.

In addition, this is the first time for the company’s Canter 4WD truck model to fulfill Japan’s 2015 fuel efficiency standard for heavy-duty vehicles (hereinafter “FES2015”), achieving its class-topping low fuel consumption.

Main Characteristics of the new 4WD “Canter” light-duty truck model

•  High-floor, part-time 4WD installed on all wide-cab variants for offering optimal driving force in snowy regions.
•  Wide range of lineups offered for various purposes and applications.
•  Best-in-class clean emissions by 30% lower NOx and PM emissions than the required level of the 2010 emissions regulations.
•  Equipped with newly developed “4P10” diesel engine and the BlueTec® emissions reduction system, a first in light-duty trucks in Japan.
•  First commercial truck in the world to incorporate a dual-clutch transmission, DUONIC®

Expanding the New Canter Line

The addition for a 4WD model for Japan is the latest development is the rollout of the new Canter in Japan and international markets. The vehicle debuted in Japan in November 2010 and in 2011 has been unveiled in the United States, Canada and Australia, with more international introductions to follow this year. The new Canter represents a leap forward in light-duty truck design, and achieves “Environment”, “Economy”, and “Safety +α” on a high level.

The Canter, first launched in 1963 and now in its eight generation, has the highest unit sales of any vehicle in the portfolio of both MFTBC and Daimler Trucks.
