Fuso Canter Light-Duty Truck
Named “Top Light Truck Slovakia 2012”

Kawasaki - Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC), one of Asia’s leading commercial vehicle manufacturers, today announced its latest Canter light-duty truck was named the “Top Light Truck Slovakia 2012” for the light-duty truck category.
The award was presented at The AUTOSHOW fair, in the fair congress hall in Nitra, Slovakia, on September 13, 2012. The ceremony was joined by more than 140 industry professionals including representatives of commercial vehicles and truck manufacturers, journalists, editors and customers. Prizes for the 8 different categories were handed over by Mr. Jaroslav Holecek, President of the Union of Slovak Automotive and CEO of Luxur Media s.r.o. Viliam Bujna (publisher of TRANSPORT and LOGISTICS) and Mr. Stanislav Cvengroš, member of the international jury of the "Truck of the Year" and "Van of the Year" and editor of TRANSPORT and LOGISTICS.
The Top Light Truck Slovakia 2012 Awards are organized by TRASPORT and LOGISTICS magazine, one of the most popular and influential commercial vehicles magazines in Slovakia, with the voting coming from more than 2,200 magazine readers for the varying categories, including light-duty trucks to heavy-duty trucks as well as buses. The Canter was named the top light-duty truck among the overall 7 nominees in its category, achieving a back-to-back win from 2011.
Latest Generation Canter Light-Duty Truck
Launched in 2011 for the European markets, the Canter light-duty truck incorporates the company’s latest technologies: the 3-liter ‘4P10’ engine for all model variants and BlueTec® emissions reduction system for the most powerful engine variant 129 kW (175 hp) and world-leading technology DUONIC® dual-clutch transmission. BlueTec® is already in use in many vehicles of the Daimler group model range. Since the spring of 2010, the Fuso Canter also meets the EEV (Enhanced Environmentally Friendly Vehicle) standard which asks for a further reduction in particle emissions by around one third in comparison to the already stringent Euro 5 limits. For Europe, it includes three weight classes, three cab models, three load levels, two transmission alternatives, right- and left-hand drive and a variety of wheelbases.
History of Canter
The Fuso Canter dates to 1963. More than 3.5 million Canters have rolled off production lines to date. It is the highest volume truck within Daimler Trucks’ global portfolio. For the European market, the Canter has been produced in Tramagal, Portugal, since 1980. To date, more than 160,000 vehicles have been produced at the plant. Fuso is represented by more than 900 service partners in 33 markets throughout Europe.
