MFTBC Headquarters, Kawasaki Plant
Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC) produces a range of heavy, medium, and light duty trucks, industrial engines, and various components at its Kawasaki headquarters (K1). The company also has a research and development division, which includes the FUSO Design Center and departments focusing on clean exhaust gas, noise reduction, sustainability, and vehicle safety. In 2019, the company established a new headquarters building, New Product Center (NPC) to promote operational efficiency.

Kitsuregawa Proving Ground
Kitsuregawa Proving Ground (KPG), in Tochigi Prefecture was established in 1980 as a test course and technology and development center. Since then, it has strengthened various test facilities, including ABS road testing, radio testing, and an engine research building. To meet the needs of the rapidly changing transportation industry, it conducts preliminary research on engine components, as well as vehicle testing and benchmarking of safety functions, performance, and durability. KPG’s high-speed loop is one of the world’s largest for trucks and buses.
Nakatsu Plant
The Nakatsu Plant in Kanagawa Prefecture, is a transmission production plant for trucks and buses. Here, gears, shafts, and other key components are heat-treated, inspected and final assembly is done. The plant has also introduced unmanned material-handling robots (AGVs, AIVs) and various “kaizen” initiatives to create an efficient layout, taking into account productivity and logistics. In addition to shipping finished products to domestic and overseas knock-down factories, repair parts are also sent out from Nakatsu.
