Mitsubishi Fuso celebrates the handover of the 20,000th
vehicle to customers in Taiwan

  • Daimler Trucks Asia Taiwan Ltd. (DTAT) has handed over the 20,000th FUSO vehicle to customers in less than 3 years since start of operations.
  • FUSO continues its market leadership in Taiwan for the 27th consecutive year.

Taichung, Taiwan/ Kawasaki, Japan, Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC) under the umbrella of Daimler Trucks Asia, announces the customer handover of the 20,000th FUSO truck in Taiwan by local joint venture and distributor Daimler Trucks Asia Taiwan Ltd. (DTAT).

The handover ceremony took place on December 20th in Taichung, on the premises of Chang Sheng Ready Mixer Concrete Corporation, the customer receiving the 20,000th vehicle. Chang Sheng Ready Mixer Concrete Corporation currently has 20 FUSO mixer trucks in its fleet to support its 33-year old business.

Joe Wong, CEO of DTAT, commented, “We are proud to be celebrating this occasion with our valued partner and customer. DTAT hopes to continue serving businesses that support the growth of Taiwan.”

In Taiwan, FUSO products have a long heritage that began with the introduction of the B46 light bus in 1936. Since then, FUSO’s presence has grown steadily; currently, Taiwan is FUSO’s second largest overseas market after Indonesia. Furthermore, for 27 consecutive years, FUSO has been the commercial vehicle brand with the top market share. To carry on this history of market leadership, DTAT started operations in 2017 as a joint venture between MFTBC and Shung Ye Trading Co. (SYC), a leading player in the Taiwanese commercial vehicles market. DTAT is the sole distributor of the FUSO brand in Taiwan and is responsible for the exclusive import and wholesale businesses for the entire range of FUSO products, including light, medium, and heavy trucks, as well as light and medium-duty buses. FUSO vehicles are supplied to Taiwan both as KD (knock-down) assembly kits and BU (built-up) products. Backed by an extensive yet growing sales network, DTAT has achieved a market share of 33% (Jan-Nov 2019) with FUSO this year.
