Daimler Group companies in Japan continue support for the German Innovation Award through 2018 for the tenth year running

Tokyo, Japan   On June 26, 2018, the four Daimler AG companies in Japan* (Chief Representative Officer of Daimler AG Representative Office Tokyo: Kazuo Matsunaga, Chairman of the Board of Mitsubishi Fuso Truck & Bus Corp.) celebrated the 10th anniversary of the German Innovation Award – “the Gottfried Wagener Prize”: Ten years of advancement of digital transformation, co-organized by the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Japan.
The German Innovation Award, Gottfried Wagener Prize, has been presented since 2008 by technology-focused German companies and the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Japan to young researchers to encourage collaboration between German and Japanese industry as well as academia. Daimler Group companies in Japan have supported this award since its inception, making this year’s award their tenth year of running support.
Kazuo Matsunaga, Chief Representative Officer of Daimler AG Representative Office Tokyo said on this occasion that “We hope technology exchanges between Japan and Germany will continue to be nurtured through this award, and that innovative research and technology from this effort will contribute to solving global problems. Daimler in Japan will continue to do its work towards making a positive impact on the society and environment, alike”.
